Four students, two for athlete of the month and two for student of the month, were chosen to recognize their outstanding academic or athletic performance.
Freshman Sam Moehring, student of the month, shares tips on studying.
“I like to get together with a couple of other people when I’m studying, to get a few different points of view,” Moehring said.
Senior Abbie Kulinec, athlete of the month, likes the experience she gets from being in swim.
“I like spending time with the team and being able to improve as the year goes on,” Kulinec said.
Junior Kathie Beckman, student of the month, keeps up her grades by doing homework whenever she has time.
“I tend to do homework in my spare time, during school while I’m not doing anything, or in the library after I’m finished eating lunch, or right when I get home from school so I don’t have to worry about it late at night,” Beckman said.
Being completely focused on her homework is Beckman’s key to success in studying.
“I guess [my tip for studying] is just to create a quiet spot where you normally study,” Beckman said. “For me, it’s in my room at my desk because there, there are no distractions.”
Senior Brady Edwards, athlete of the month, enjoys playing golf every day.
“[I love] the ability to just go out and play every day and [seeing] the members of the team and [the coach] Rizer,” Edwards said.
