Call Me Maybe… please?
Carly Rae Jepsen quickly took over the music world with her single Call Me Maybe. Jepsen’s catchy tune and lyrics have gotten themselves stuck in the minds of teenagers across the country and have them singing and rocking out to the song whenever it plays.
An example of Jepsen’s song’s rise to popularity is the Harvard baseball team. The Harvard baseball team made a video while traveling that showed them lip-syncing and doing synchronized moves to Call Me Maybe; the video went viral on YouTube giving Call Me Maybe more publicity.
This isn’t Jepsen’s first time in the spotlight, though. She placed third on Canadian Idol with her singing and shortly after signed a recording contract with Canada’s 604 Records which helped her produce two gold singles, “Tug of War” and “Bucket” as well as helped her win the Canadian Radio Music Award for Song of the Year.
Call Me Maybe is a great song and it is no wonder it is as popular as it is. For those who haven’t heard it yet, you will soon enough.
