Drama Club showcase One-Acts
Drama Club presented their humor-centered Student Directed One-Acts at the Black Box, Thursday evening, April 19.
Performances began with Taking Flight, written and directed by senior Toni Miller, a story revolving around Sam, junior Bri Wilson, and her imaginary friend Wren, freshman Bailey Ashworth, whom who she confides in with her struggles both at home and school.
Following Miller’s Taking Flight, was Jean-Paul Sartre’s No Exit, directed by senior Erik Kausin and junior Michaela Slezak, which portrays hell not as a place filled with torture devices, the society norm, but instead as a place where the real hell is other people, as Joseph (senior Mitch Forsey), Inez (junior Lucy Schreiber) and Estelle (senior Bella Vanek) soon come to realize.
Junior Sean Kocmoud headed the last performance of the evening that of Jonathan Rand’s Check Please! which follows a series of blind dates that go awry as the dinner dates vary from a raging kleptomaniac to grandmother’s bridge partner.
